It is not for the faint of heart, but the opportunities for customization are not to be believed!
• Best for the Privacy-Conscious: Very difficult!!! Janitor AI uses outside sources for its AI, thus your conversations become a function of the privacy practices of OpenAI or whatever service you use. Character.AI and Replika utilize privately tendered data, but still subject it to practices whereby it can use your data to train its models or monitor for safety. This is all about what model you feel most comfortable with.

Next I ventured into the land of unfiltered AIs with Janitor AI. This platform is legendary in communities that seek complete freedom. The installation was a little more technical, as I needed to obtain an API key from OpenAI, but the dividends produced eminently compensated for that. It afforded me instant power over the AI model, the temperature, and many other attributes of the tool. This is a platform for those who wish to build their experience literally from the ground up.
