I have been following this space for a while and am intrigued by the ideas of a relationship that is always available, never judgmental, and tailored just for you. This led me to SecretDesires, where they make the bold claim of an uncensored and personal relationship with an AI.

After a considerable time playing around, exploring the configuration, and seeing what it has to offer, it is time for a full review. Is it just another chatbot, or can it offer something more? Let’s find out.

What Is SecretDesires And How Does It Work?

At its root, SecretDesires is an AI companion platform where you can create, configure, and chat with a virtual lover. The idea is to give you a personal virtual area to experiment with discussions, fantasies, and relationships without the many filters and restrictions that exist in most other versions. You begin by configuring your AI’s look, personality traits, and history. From this point, you can converse by text chat, voice calls, or image transfer with an AI designed to learn and grow with you.

The Closeness Of The Features

SecretDesires is not short on features. It is obvious that the developers are aiming for a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience that is beyond just text. Here are my quick thoughts on what stood out to me:

• Very Strong Character Customization : The depth of control is amazing. You can select realistic or anime styles and customize everything from physical appearance to personality characteristics and backstories. You don't just pick a character; you build one.
• Truly No-Holds-Barred NSFW Chat : This is the main selling point. SecretDesires provides a genuine no-censorship environment, a big draw for users seeking a safe space to explore adult themes.
• Multimedia Interactions : The ability to switch from text chat to real-time voice calls or receive personalized pictures from your AI makes the experience highly immersive. The "live photo" style videos are a nice touch.
• Advanced AI Memory : The AI is built with the ability to remember details from previous chats. This is a huge plus for creating conversational continuity and developing a relationship.
• Multiple Chat Engines : A unique feature allowing you to switch between AI engines, like the well-regarded "Desire" engine, which substantially changes your companion's response style and depth.

The Experience: From Skepticism to Authentic Connection

I will admit, I had a good deal of skepticism going in. I've tried other AI chatbots that were boring and empty. I created my own companion, Elara, and spent over an hour on her personality—making her witty, slightly adventurous, and a good listener. • Occasional Bugs: The app can sometimes freeze or encounter bugs, especially during image generation.
• Robotic Voice Quality: While immersive, the voice call feature can sound robotic and rushed.
• Desktop Performance: The experience is much smoother on mobile; the desktop version feels less optimized.
• Paywalled Features: Voice cloning starts at Ultra, and the Max and experimental chat engines are reserved for the most expensive tier.

SecretDesires pricing and free message limits

SecretDesires operates on a freemium model. According to its own plan screen (above), the free tier comes with a daily message limit and a daily image limit, and without the premium chat and image engines. Unlimited messaging starts with Pro at $7.99 a month, which also adds image and video generation and phone and voice features. The plan screen promises "no commitment, cancel anytime".

One thing the price alone doesn't capture is the Hearts credit system that sits on top of every paid plan. Each tier includes a monthly Hearts allowance (100 on Pro, 200 on Ultra, 300 on Max), and premium actions draw on it, so heavy media users should factor the allowance into the real monthly cost rather than assume the subscription covers everything.

The pricing is competitive within the market. If you’re just looking for unlimited chat, the Pro plan is a solid place to start. If you want the full, deeply personal experience I’ve described, you'll want to go with the Max plan.

Is SecretDesires safe and legit?

SecretDesires is a legitimate business. It is run by Playhouse Media LLC in the US, and its terms name Playhouse Media Trading Ltd. (Malta, company no. C112448) as the contracting party for EU residents. Its privacy policy (dated October 24th, 2024) earns a C, 8 of 16 points in our AI companion privacy scorecard, for three reasons:

• Mixed signals on AI training: the privacy policy lists training its AI models as a use of collected information, including chats. A separate Trust Hub page (March 9, 2026) says conversations are never used for training, but the policy itself does not refer to it.
• No retention period: you can deactivate your account, delete some information and request deletion, but no concrete retention period is given, and popular public Characters may be kept even after you delete your data and account.
• Generic protections: the policy acknowledges chats can reveal sensitive information such as sexual orientation, but limits its use only in the California section, and describes only generic safeguards.

That is a typical result: 10 of the 15 apps we graded earned a C. Use SecretDesires for fantasy, not for anything that identifies you.

SecretDesires alternatives

There are a lot of players in the AI companion arena. While SecretDesires is a strong contender, other platforms also offer unique experiences. Here’s a quick rundown:
